Personal Background

Yuval Tal is an Israeli-born businessman and entrepreneur who specializes in hi-tech startups, a field in which he has been operating for over twenty years. Mr. Tal’s expertise lies in global online commerce, currency exchange, prepaid-card applications and security-related technologies. He is a popular speaker at conferences and conventions around the world and uses the opportunities to speak about the current events and innovations in the online commerce industry. 

Academic Background

Yuval Tal holds several degrees from Tel Aviv University. He has a bechanical engineering bachelor of science degree (1988-1992) and a biomedical engineering master’s of science (1992-1996) ,minor in business administration.

Business Background

Yuval Tal’s career in hi-tech startups started with the inception of Radware and R U Sure. As the former’s business development manager, he was in charge of expanding the online comparative shopping company’s activities to new markets. His position at RadWare, an award-winning global leader in application delivery integrated solutions, was that of general manager.

In 1999, Yuval Tal used the experience he gained at Radware and R U Sure and co-founded E4X. The company later switched names to 51 Global E-Commerce. E4X was a pioneer of e-commerce, specializing in providing methods to improve and facilitate cross-border payments via the Internet. 

Under the leadership of Yuval Tal the Israeli company turned in record time from a humble startup into a profitable operation. After raking in a few big name clients, E4X was valued as being worth more than 500 million US dollars. 

In 2005 Yuval Tal founded Payoneer, a company he now leads as president. Payoneer provides solutions for online payments for a growing number of clients. These clients operate in a wide range of industries, such as pharmaceuticals, freelancers, content providers, multi-level marketers, web merchants, online advertising networks, stock photography, game developers, online affiliate networks, clinical trials and online marketing. Following a period of 4,751% growth, Payoneer Inc. was recognized as Number 34 on a recent list published by Deloitte for the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the areas of media, life sciences, telecommunications and clean technologies. The CEO of Payoneer credits that growth to the way it has improved e-commerce payments in more than 200 countries. 

In the six years it has been operating, Payoneer has managed to deliver several millions of online payments. The company’s service relies upon the widely accepted credit card, MasterCard®, and all money transfers are handled with the highest standards of security in the field.

As part of his duties as president, Yuval Tal is in charge of financial, developmental and operational management and oversight. The company payroll boasts over a hundred professionals from the hi-tech and financial industries. The company remains privately owned and is funded by Silicon Valley venture capital firm Greylock Partners; software, Internet and hi-tech investment company Crossbar Capital; and the Israeli venture capital firm Carmel Ventures. Payoneer’s home office is situated in New York City.

Public Speaking Experience

Tal is fortunate to be able to share his professional experience with other startups, companies, vendors, affiliates, entrepreneurs, marketers, developers and hi-tech employees in the payment app, online and e-commerce field through his participation in conferences that bring people in his industry together to discuss ideas, concepts, strategies, and new developments in the field. At the “Apps World” conference held in London, Yuval Tal was a guest speaker where he spoke before its 5,000 participants about Payoneer’s contributions to the e-commerce industry and its powerful payout solutions. While there, he also collaborated on projects with his international colleagues to further develop the mobile app ecosystem. As a representative of Payoneer, Yuval Tal plans to participate in the huge annual conference that is being planned in London called the App World, which began three years ago. He was asked to speak before a large and interested audience on the advances to look for in the mobile app industry, with an emphasis on e-commerce and online payouts, such as with Payoneer. The 2012 event will be attended by more than 5,000 industry professionals.

Tal’s company Payoneer hosted the Track N’ Pay 2012 conference took place at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel and Tal was featured as a headliner, alongside guests like Lucas Brown, Co-Founder and CEO at HasOffers.com, and Tomer Bar-Zeev, Co-Founder and CEO of IronSource.  The conference, which highlighted new concepts in affiliate marketing and tracking through mobile and digital systems and payment services, also featured panel discussions with speakers and guests.  Tal was also a speaker at the Affiliate Summit East Conference in New York in 2009. Tal spoke of his work with affiliate agents and hi-tech professionals. 

In September 2011, Tal was a speaker at the Take Charge 2011 Digital Commerce.  This one-day seminar focused on new marketing concepts, online sales, e-commerce developments, currency exchange and payment service techniques, all of which Tal has expertise in.  

As well as being an engaging public speaker, Yuval Tal writes for his very successful blog on a regular basis. In his posts he speaks his mind regarding the state of the banking industry and he highlights new developments in the world of mobile technology, with an emphasis on e-commerce trends and solutions.
